What is CSA?

CSA is short for Community Supported Agriculture. Basically, the customer is paying in advance for a “share” of the upcoming season’s production.

How does CSA benefit the farm?

CSA is mutually beneficial to the customer and the farmer. The farmer benefits by having upfront cash flow to cover expenses for seed, amendments, and farm upgrades during the “off season.”

How does the customer benefit?

The customer benefits by having a weekly bag of fresh, local, chemical free produce delivered to them. They know how their food was grown and where it comes from.

When does the season run?

The 2026 CSA season will run from May 6th-October 31st. Customers will receive their weekly bags either on Wednesday or Saturday mornings.

What are some examples of food that comes in the bags?

The bag will have vegetables and some fruit that is in season in Jasper County Georgia at that time. This could include lettuce, spinach, kale, collards, cabbages, carrots, onions, squashes, melons, peppers, tomatoes, okra, turnips, radishes, figs, mushrooms, microgreens, and more.

Is Wholistic Farms certified organic?

We are not “certified” but follow the same procedures in production. We believe that the best way to grow food begins with building healthy soil. We do not use synthetic pesticides or fertilizers.

Does the customer choose what is in the bag?

The contents of the bags are mostly determined by what is ready to harvest. We try to be flexible if there is a certain vegetable that a household just will not eat. When possible, we will substitute a larger share of another crop that is already in the bag.

What can I expect in a weekly bag?

The weekly bag will contain between 5-10 different crops picked this week (or possibly even this morning) from our farm.

What size portions come in the bags?

Portions in a full share are intended for a family of four moderate vegetable eaters. We also offer a half share that is better for smaller household and those who don’t eat a lot of vegetables.
